Finally, a Charity That’s Truly Fitting!

Brides Across America, an American charity that has been generously giving away wedding dresses to military brides for the past three years, is planning its biggest event yet this November 11th. On Veterans Day, thousands of brides-to-be can choose from a wide variety of couture wedding dresses from top labels such as Pronovias, Amsale and Vera Wang.

This lavish wedding gown gifting day is part of Brides Across America's nationwide project to make sure that military brides in every state can see their dream wedding realized and look amazing on their wedding day.

Brides Across America approached numerous bridal shops across the nation to participate in the project by donating wedding dresses. And the charity was not disappointed: shop owners donated wedding dresses in all sizes, ranging from 4 to 22, and in a multitude of styles, from classic to haute couture. And though price tags will range from $400 to over $3000, they will be free for women serving in the military, as well as the fiancées of service men.

The reasoning behind the charity’s action is poignant: because so many members of the military return home from active service with injuries or permanent disabilities, many also see their pay drastically reduced. And this makes organizing your dream wedding with the partner you’ve waited so long for, all but impossible without a little extra help.

Fortunately, Brides Across America understands the promise every marriage brings and didn't want to see even one soldier's wedding postponed or canceled due to economic reasons. To qualify for one of Brides Across America's free wedding dresses, you must be engaged and either you, your fiancé or both, must have been on active duty in Afghanistan or Iraq. You will be required to produce official documents to verify your connection to the US military.
